Our silver Venus of Willendorf is a tribute to the beautifully sculptured woman of the Stone Ages.
The Venus of Willendorf, is a sculpture that was found near Willendorf village in lower Austria. They have predicted she was carved 30,000 BCE. There is still a lot of mystery around this sculpture. The Venus, has exaggerated womanly features, so it has been said she was carved by a man as a fertility fetish, due to the mother baring qualities of the sculpture. She is definitely a true work of art and portrait of a real woman: The Mother Goddess,
The pendant perhaps served as a good luck charm for the men who went to hunt and as a reminder that their loved one was waiting back home, or has been known as a fertility symbol.
We were captivated by its statement of femininity, so bold and proud. The Venus makes a stunning piece of jewellery by embracing a womanly figure in a lovely drop like setting.
